Just had a note from Madam Pauline the Chief of the Clan Hunter about an open day for Clan members on July 27th at Hunterston Castle. A Buffet lunch will be available. Sounds fun!

Burns Supper

We went to a very late Burns Supper this year – on Friday 6th March. Usually Burns Suppers are all finished by the end of January so this was a change to say the least. It was organised by a local group to raise funds for the redevelopment of our Moffat Town Hall which was originally built as a Bath House in Moffat hey day as a Spa Town.

We had the usual toasts and amusing speakers to entertain us and also some excellent music. A local musician and poet Lionel McLellan provided some of the musical input and I found him reciting a poem on YouTube which you might be interested in hearing. Called the ‘Common Craw’ – Common Crow – I think the sentiment will be familiar to us all. It will tax your understanding to Scottish dialect though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQNSndjshRU
